Why get an LCD TV ceiling mount as opposed to a television stand or even a wall mount? There are a few situations in which having a ceiling mount would be more convenient. For instance, if you have a great deal of art of photos hanging on the wall or if you would like to have an easier way to watch television while in bed. Before LCD TVs became common, CRT televisions reigned supreme. These older models were big, heavy, and offered little in the way of viewing quality. They also could not be easily mounted. The only way CRT televisions could possibly be “mounted” was via a stand attached to the wall. These were often adjustable, but they jutted out of the wall and were unsightly. The ceiling models were not much different. LCD and other types of flat screen TVs are much easier to set up on a ceiling or wall mount, and many are made just for that type of set up.

An LCD TV ceiling mount comes in tow primary styles: Those that are attached to the ceiling and point straight down, and those that are technically mounted on the ceiling but hang down to be seen by the entire room. The instances in which these types of mounts would be used are fairly specific, and most people choose to go with the wall mounted option because of the huge range of models available and their versatility.

Those that are installed directly onto the ceiling to be viewed that way work much like your standard wall mount models, though finding them in anything other than stationary styles is very rare. These are most often installed in bedrooms, though some households have found some other uses for them.

Models that have the stand itself in the ceiling and hang down are much more versatile and are often capable of being tilted or adjusted. These are easier to find than the model mentioned above, and they suit most people’s needs. This style is an alternative to wall mounts, as they serve to allow the whole room to view the TV easily.

When shopping for an LCD TV ceiling mount, it is important to pay close attention to the maximum allowed weight. Some may scoff and think they can get by with a model with a lesser maximum weight because it is more affordable, but that is an accident just waiting to happen. Stick within the weight range to avoid having the TV fall to the floor later on — which could destroy the television, anything under it, and harm anyone within the vicinity.

New style television have brought a whole myriad of new ways to display them for the whole room to see. Entertainment centers still have their place in households with multiple video game consoles or DVD/Blu-Ray players attached to them, but those that don’t have all of the side equipment can easily do with a convenient LCD TV ceiling mount or wall bracket.
